City of Cascade Iowa Garbage & Recycling CollectionThe City of Cascade provides citizens and businesses with curbside garbage and recycling collection. Garbage is collected Tuesdays on the Westside of town and Fridays on the east side of town. Residential collection is limited to one 33-gallon container or bag per household per week. Extra garbage requires a $1.50 bag tag available at City Hall, the grocery store, and convenience stores. Cascade’s garbage and refuse is disposed of at the Dubuque Metropolitan Solid Waste Agency landfill in Dubuque, Iowa. Recycling is collected throughout town on Thursdays. Recycling bins are provided by the City and available at City Hall. Lids for recycling bins are also available, but cost $2.00. There are no limits on the volume of recycling. The City’s garbage and recycling rates are below: Cascade Garbage & Recycling Rates
Clean-Up Days:The City holds a Spring and Fall clean-up event where residents are able to dispose of large items and extra refuse not taken with normal garbage collection. Typical items are stoves, refrigerators, air conditioners, microwaves, washers, dryers, beds, and old furniture. All appliances and metal collected are recycled.
