The of City of Cascade maintains approximately 25 miles of local roads, streets, and alleys. Roadway surfaces include concrete, asphalt, seal coat, and gravel surfaces. Typical maintenance activities completed by city employees include snow and ice removal, street sweeping, seal coating, pothole patching, minor street surface repairs, and street signage.

The main roadways in Cascade are 1st Avenue (Business 151) and State Highway 136 (Johnson Street). The City has one traffic light that is at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Johnson Street. The City has two bridges. The 1st Avenue Bridge spans the North Fork Maquoketa River in the middle of Cascade and the Monroe Street Bridge across a small unnamed creek on the northeast side of town.
